Root Canal Treatment
A root canal treatment (RCT) is done when decay has reached the nerve of the tooth. The tooth can be alive or dead with an abscess. It is the process when the nerve is removed from roots and filled with special kind of filling material. This treatment takes one appointment most of the time. We strongly advise that a tooth is restored with a crown to preserve the integrity of the tooth structure. It is very important that the treatment is done as soon as it is detected, otherwise infection around roots can cause bone loss around it.
Complete and Partial Dentures
Complete denture is a prosthesis that replaces all missing teeth. It takes support from remaining gums. Its stability depends on the height of the gums. Complete dentures are made of acrylic resin.
Partial denture is a removable option for one or more missing teeth. It takes support from remaining teeth as well as gums. It is a more cost friendly option rather than doing a bridge. Sometimes when a person is missing more teeth, a partial denture is the only option because of the long span of teeth to be replaced. Partial dentures are of two kinds: acrylic that may or may not have metal clasps and cast partial that has metal framework. Dentures can take around 3 to 4 appointments.
